Divorced from an Indonesian

Indonesia is a religious country, and the courts are divided into Islamic Courts and District Courts. All Islamic divorce proceedings will be heard in Islamic Courts, and all non-Islamic divorce proceedings will be heard in District Courts.

There are three main points of divorce cases:

  1. The establishment of the divorce facts.
  2. Custody of children.
  3. Division of property.

Materials to be prepared for a divorce case:

  1. Identity Card. (Passport, Indonesian residence permit)
  2. Marriage certificate.
  3. The child’s birth certificate.
  4. Copy of the other party’s identity card.
  5. List of alimony.
  6. Property list. (Real estate certificate, vehicle driving certificate, etc.)
  7. List of all important time points since the beginning of the marriage.
  8. Evidence that the other party is not competent for the husband/wife.
